Plaveiselcelcarcinoom

Een plaveiselcelcarcinoom (Latijnse naam: carcinoma spinocellulare, Engelse term: squamous cell carcinoma) is een kwaadaardige tumor die ontstaat vanuit de opperhuid. 

Vanaf 1992 werd al vermoed dat plaveiselcelcarcinoom te maken had siliconen borstimplantaten.  In 2017 werd gesproken van geassocieerd en in 2022 werd duidelijk hoe ernstig het kan zijn.
